Many of the ingredients contained in conventional household cleaners, detergents and soaps are known to have detrimental and damaging effects on the environment when they re-enter the water supply. The normal cleaner fluids take liters and litres of water to reduce the toxicity levels of pollutants from the cleaning products that are very harmful to the environment, when re-submitted back into the water stream.

Educating cleaning personnel about using new green cleaning products, and abandoning the ones they've been accustomed to, is a slight transition. But with time, it can work. Remember agreen and clean does not have to cost more and the products My Eco Cleaner has sourced are kind on the environment and kind to your pocket!!

With an increase in allergies and asthma and environmental damage, we are right to question the effects of chemicals we encounter in the products we use in our daily lives, at work and in the office. This is just a small list- There is mounting evidence that the mixtures of all of these used are the problem. It is the chemical interaction- long term within our bodies that is still dangerous to our health, and the long term illness's are still relatively unknown to humans.

Ammonia
Ammonia can cause coughing, and nose and throat irritation. If mixed with chlorine bleach it releases poisonous gas.

Chlorine
Chlorine is found in household bleach. It was initially used as a poison gas in the First World War. Chlorine can become a danger when mixed with ammonia, urine, or other cleaning products that could contain ammonia as it produces toxic fumes consisting of chlorine gas.

Enzymes
Enzymes digest stains. They also cause skin conditions and asthma attacks.

Triclosan
Triclosan is and antibacterial agent. Research has indicated that triclosan kills friendly bacteria as well as the bad, and can trigger anti-biotic resistant strains of bacteria.

Formaldehyde
Formaldehyde kills most types of bacteria, and so can be used as a disinfectant solution in mould and mildew removers as well as dishwashing liquid. Can cause nasal irritation, and affect breathing. In your office, in most modern buildings, there are many windows to, and computer screens to clean. Commonly used in window cleaning products, and is always almost used in the home in laundry softeners. It is also known now to change your DNA, and has been used for centuries as an embalming fluid.

Phosphates
Phosphates are used as water softeners in laundry and dishwashing detergents. They are a fertilizer, and so cause rapid algae growth, destabilising and polluting the natural ecology of the water in the rivers where our cleaning products end up.
